An office that stimulates forward thinking & offers a healthy and sustainable future.
In a speech to 2,000 executives at the Assises du Patronat, held in 1972 in Marseille, Danone founder Antoine Riboud redefined the traditional role of the business leader and outlined a new vision of corporate social responsibility. Today the assignment for the Danone office is to facilitate Danone’s mission and incorporating their core values in the concept and design of the building, stimulating forward thinking by encouraging collaboration.
— Before starting on the concept and the design, we spent a great deal of time analysing the questions that layed before us.
Increasing the health of your employees
Offering a healthy and inspiring working environment is an integral part of our vision. Health and well-being are key ingredients of the very nature of Danone. The new office will become the ultimate environment for working and a building where employees are conscious of how they live, work, eat and how that affects their health.
The design stimulates spontaneous meetings
The building will stimulate co-working through green and informal meeting places that are welcoming in their ambiance and encourage informal encounters and discussions. Facilitating the co-working philosophy of Danone and fuelling the sharing of knowledge so that people with different expertise can both help and inspire.
Focus on making our planet a better one
In our vision sustainability has never been just an option or a trend, it is a part of our daily lives. We think it is self-evident that sustainability plays a substantial part in real estate development and the design process. We have a strong focus on making our planet a better place through the reuse of materials and minimizing the carbon footprint, which is fully in line with the sustainable vision of Danone.
— To ensure we successfully achieve the assignment, we think these six conceptual building blocks are essential.
- Total footprint of 2.100 m2
- 20m wall of vegation & stairs stimulating well-being
- Large column free multi-purpose office floors
- Natural stone grid
- Full glass facade and atrium
- Roof fills building with natural light

Danone and ASICS share a campus in Hoofddorp and these global companies share a complementary vision. They both value healthy lifestyles. ASICS in sport with their “Sound mind in a sound body” mission statement and Danone with the focus on achieving a healthier life through food for as many people as possible.
We are convinced that not only the building itself should be sustainable, the building should also be a sustainable working environment for all employees. Our ambition is to realize a state of the art sustainable and healthy building. Because of our vision on sustainability, health and especially their interconnection, we think the world’s most recognized assessment systems in this field, WELL (health and well-being) and LEED (sustainability) will be the most suitable.
